Marion Birkenbeil Landscape Architect
Since 2001 I have worked in my own business as a landscape architect in Brisbane, Ipswich and Coolum Beach. I have mainly designed residential gardens for private customers, builders and developers in South East Queensland, North Queensland and in Fern Bay, NSW.
Although often constrained to certain budgets, I always enjoy creating unique gardens with different styles such as Tropical, Native or Mediterranean themes.
I also designed gardens for several display homes. Special design features were: Permeable paving, sculptures and edible plants.
And a bit more about my background:
After my apprenticeship as a gardener in a wholesale nursery I worked as a landscaper for many years. Later I studied landscape architecture in Essen, Germany and became a landscape architect / bachelor of science in 1996. My major work in that time was open space planning.
Since my immigration to Australia, I have worked in several landscape planning offices and also in retail and wholesale nurseries in Brisbane, so that I gained a good knowledge of Australian plants and planning issues.
I became an Associate member of AILA (the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects) in 2002 and a Registered member in 2007.
